• Matter:- Anything that occupies space and passes mass and volume.
• Mass:- The amount of matter contain in an object.
*Something that interacts with matter is energy.
• Energy:- the ability or capacity to do work.
DIFFERENCES BETWEEN MATTER AND ENERGY
MATTER | ENERGY |
Concrete | abstract |
Occupies space and passes mass and volume | Do not occupy space and do not passes any mass or volume. |
• Solid
• Liquid
• Gas
ARRANGEMENT OF PARTICLES IN MATTER
SOLID
• The particles in a solid are packed tightly in a fixed patter. They are strong forces holding them together so they cannot move from their position, the only movements they make are tiny vibration to and fro.
LIQUIDS
• The particles in a liquid can move about and slide past each other. They are not so closely packed together. The force that hold them together are weaker than in solids.
GAS
• The particles in gas are far apart and they move about very quickly, there are almost no forces that hold the together. they collide with each other and bounce of in all directions.
